NUS postpones exams on the 7th May Nothing ought to stop you
from taking your exams at NUS. Not even the General Elections or
a broken down lift.
The National University of Singapore (NUS) exams scheduled on 7
May has been brought forward to 6 May 2011 6p.m. — the official
‘cooling off’ day of this coming General Elections. All 239
Students who have exams on the Saturday have been notified of
the change and will now have to take their papers a day earlier.
The move by NUS mirrors schools such as the Nanyang
Technological University (NTU) who have altered the dates of
their exams because of the General Elections. However, NTU has
decided to move its exam papers back instead of bringing them
forward like NUS.
Despite the changes to the exams falling on the actual polling
day itself, no tertiary institute has yet made wholesale changes
to the entire examination block in relation to the General
Elections. In the days running up to the polling day, young
voters of Singapore may have to miss crucial election rallies
and discussions due to their examination commitments.
