Difference Between Flow|Vinyasa Yoga
Flow yoga and Vinyasa yoga are the same. This is a dynamic form of
yoga, where the postures flow into one fluid movement. Thus, Vinyasa
is often known as flow yoga.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga: Vinyasa actually means ‘breath-synchronized
movement.’ So, when you do Vinyasa yoga, you have to move from one
movement to another by inhaling and exhaling in a pattern. This
technique is known as Vinyasa flow because of the smooth way that
every pose merges into the other. Also known as Ashtanga Vinyasa
yoga, this form gives a lot of importance to the journey between the
poses. Every posture is linked to the breath. Vinyasa has a set of
six postures, each flowing into the other. Ujjayi breathing is also
part of this form of yoga. While Hatha yoga is about static
postures, Vinyasa is about flowing movements. Power Yoga, Kundalini,
Bikram yoga, Jivamukti, Ashtanga and Anusara are some of the styles
of Vinyasa flow yoga.

The Core Meanings Of Vinyasa Flow Yoga:
It links your physical postures to your breath.
It has a fixed sequence of movements, which flow into each other and
are coordinated with inhaling and exhaling.
Benefits Of Vinyasa Flow Yoga: This form of yoga, like other forms
of yoga, makes the body flexible and strong; calms the mind and
improves breathing; purges the body of toxins, thus preventing
diseases. This yoga is great for overall fitness and for mental
fitness as well.
Vinyasa yoga is fast paced and is about a series of movements, each
linked to on another. This is quite like the Sun Salutation. Doing
all the postures together is more beneficial for the cardiovascular
system. This is a more advanced form of yoga, best attempted by
people who have done other forms of yoga before.
What You Can Expect From A Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class: There is a lot
of emphasis on stretching and movements. The class may include
chanting as you do your postures. Ashtanga and Power yoga are some
of the Vinyasa flow yoga styles.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga Is A Diverse Form Of Yoga – teachers are not
compelled to follow set rules or sequences. So you must find a
teacher with whom you enjoy practicing Vinyasa flow yoga as their
personality will be reflected in their class.
There are six inter-connected postures that are the core of Vinyasa
flow yoga. A typical class will take anywhere between 90 minutes to
3 hours to finish.
