This booklet has been produced by the Department of Education,
Culture and Employment in consultation with the Department of
Health and Social Services and the Department of Justice. Our
aim is to assist Northern people in planning and making career
decisions. This is part of a series of information booklets
being produced by the Career Development Division in an attempt
to promote education and career opportunities across the various
sectors in the Northwest Territories.
The social sciences is a broad field that affects the lives of
all people in the Northwest Territories. There will always be a
demand for people to work in this field. Extension of services
to communities, as well as population growth and increased
training, means that more Northerners will be able to take
advantage of the employment opportunities that exist in
education, justice and social services.
These sector booklets provide current and accurate Northern
labour market information that will help you make your career
