Rakhi Sawant to contest against ex-boyfriend Abhishek Avasthi
Since neither her acting nor her dancing is helping her boost her
career, the drama queen Rakhi Sawant to back to her reality drama
once again. This time she will fight with her ex-boyfriend Abhishek
Avasthi for victory in the forthcoming celebrity dance reality show
‘Zara Nachke Dikha’, to be aired on STAR Plus soon.
‘I am a performer. Whoever comes and performs, be it Abhishek (Avasthi),
Shah Rukh or Aamir Khan, I am going to fight equally. I don’t care
for anyone. I am not scared of any one. The girls team will win for
sure,’ Rakhi gave her statement.
Other female contestants include Aditi Gupta, Hazel Crowney, Kritika
Kamra, Mukti Mohan, Rashmi Desai, Sangeeta Ghosh, Sanjeeda Sheikh
and Saparsh Kanchandani among others. The male team comprises Aamir
Ali, Avishek Avasthi, Angad Hasija, Karan Kundra, Karan Singh

Shahrukh Khan to work with Vidhu Vinod Chopra
Both of them are best in their respective fields. Both of them have
contributed a lot to the film industry. Now, both of them are
finally coming together for the forthcoming “Ferrari Ki Sawaari”.
Talking about filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and actor Shahrukh Khan,
the former had offered the actor roles in many of his previous films
like `Kareeb`, `1942-A Love Story`, `Munnabhai MBBS` and even `3
Idiots`, but it did not work out owing to the differences between
the two.
However, the differences seem to be fading away now and the two are
very friendly with each other. This can be understood with the fact
that the superstar has finally given a nod to Vidhu’s “Ferrari Ki
Sawaari.” The film revolves around the story of how an Indian
cricket legend’s Ferrari makes a young boy’s dream of playing
cricket at Lord’s come true.

Sonam Kapoor has her hopes pinned on 2010
Sonam Kapoor has not yet delivered any hit on the silver screen, but
the actress is very hopeful about the coming year as she has a horde
of projects in her hand. Two of her films are awaiting release and
the shooting for three of the movies are on. 2010 awaits the release
of Sonam’s “Aisha” and “I Hate Luv Storys”.
Slated to release in August, “Aisha” is based on Jane Austen’s novel
‘Emma’ and the movie features Abhay Deol, Arunudoy Singh and Cyrus
Sahukar besides Sonam.
Releasing this July is Karan Johars’ romantic project, “I Hate Luv
Storys” which has Imran Khan and Samir Dattani along with Sonam.
This is Punit Malhotra’s debutant directorial venture.
“Guys, I’ve finished filming ‘Aisha’ and ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ and
they will be my two releases this year. I’m working on three films
this year. I’m doing ‘Thank You’, ‘Mausam’ and the third one I can’t
talk about,” Sonam posted on her Twitter page Saturday.
Besides, Sonam is working on Anees Bazmee’s romantic comedy “Thank
You” opposite Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Kapoor’s “Mausam” with his son
Shahid and one more project.

When Jiah Khan held Randhir Kapoor’s ears
Jiah Khan is once again all set to make her presence felt with her
sensuous performance in forthcoming ‘Housefull’ and the team members
of the film are having a ball while shooting for the film.
However, this funny incident took place at the expense of poor Jiah
Khan as the cast and crew played a prank on her. Jiah and Randhir
Kapoor, who plays her father in ‘Housefull’, were shooting a
sequemce for the film in which Jiah had to apologize to Randhirji
holding her ears and asking for forgiveness.
But the team mates made Jiah think that she had to hold Randhirji’s
ears and did the same! The entire set including Randhir himself
burst out laughing at her goof-up and Jiah was nervous.
Nevertheless, she took everything in her true spirit.

Jacqueline Fernandez learns Hindi for ‘Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai’
Sri Lankan Jacqueline Fernandez a.k.a Jackie made her Bollywood
debut with ‘Aladdin’ opposite Riteish Deshmukh. Once, again she has
paired with Riteish to play the role of an alien in ‘Jaane Kahan Se
Aayi Hai’.
Jacqueline is not quite comfortable with Hindi. She was told that
her voice would be dubbed by a professional once the film reaches
the editing stage.
“Exactly, that was the plan”, recollects Jackie, “I had shot all of
my scenes while being very comfortable all this while that there
would anyways be dubbing happening at a later stage. I just
concentrated on getting my act right without really worrying much
about pronunciation, spacing etc. because that was far from being
perfect.”
However, since her character in the film is that of an alien,
director Milap felt that her uncomfortable Hindi would just go right
with her character and so he suggested Jackie to dub for her
dialogues.
“Being shocked would be an understatement”, laughs Jackie in mock
horror, “I pleaded Milap to get someone else on board in the dubbing
studio. This is just my second film and I felt that I would ruin it
all if audience hears me speaking Hindi in my own sweet accent.
Talking about her dubbing experience, Jackie says, “I wanted to kill
myself. Period”, adds Jackie in an animated tone, “I felt that this
was the end of it. I wanted to go back to the shoot and re-do
everything that I had done as far as mouthing dialogues was
concerned.
Come on, I have no qualms in admitting that Hindi is not something
that comes naturally to me. But then what can one say when your
director feels that it is this ‘not so natural’ trait that he wanted
in his ‘alien’ character.”

Arjun Rampal protects Katrina Kaif from cold
Katrina Kaif is busy promoting her forthcoming political drama
‘Rajneeti’ these days, which is slated for release in June. At a
press release on Saturday evening, Katrina was there with Ranbir
Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Nana Patekar. Attired in a short,
sleeveless, pink dress, Katrina found the cold blast from the air
conditioner too chilly.
“It`s way too cold here. It`s so cold!” whispered Katrina to Ranbir
Kapoor and Arjun Rampal on the stage. At this Ranbir nodded his
head, but Arjun Rampal went a step ahead by taking off his coat and
offering it to the lady. She immediately grabbed it and placed it on
her legs, which were hidden behind a table on the stage. Later Nana
Patekar too requested the hotel authorities to get the temperature
in control.

After Big B and SRK, Aamir Khan to host ‘KBC 4′?
‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ proved to be a milestone in Amitabh
Bachchan’s sinking career and how Big B is still playing a
successful second innings of his career is for everyone to see.
After Big B, Shahrukh Khan too tried his hand at hosting this
popular game show. Now, it is the perfectionist Khan of Bollywood,
Aamir Khan, who has been approached to host ‘KBC 4’.
However, the deal is yet to be finalized over the price offered and
only then, Aamir will give his affirmative nod. It may be mentioned
here that Aamir Khan has been offered a lot more than Shah Rukh (Rs
75 lakh per episode).
Siddhartha Basu, the ‘KBC’ producer, clarified the issue saying,
“It’s too early to talk about the next season of ‘KBC.’ Sony
Pictures, who now owns the game show, might have had initial
discussions with Aamir. But the details for the next season will
take a long time to formulate.”
On the other hand, Aamir Khan refused to comment on the issue.

Rahul Mahajan & Dimpy Ganguly throw a grand reception party
The much talked about NDTV Imagine’s reality show ‘Rahul Dulhaniya
Le Jayega’ which was based on the lines of American game show The
Bachelor, led to the wedlock of Rahul Mahajan and 21-year-old model
Dimpy Ganguly on March 7. The couple has returned from a romantic
honeymoon in Maldives and held a grand wedding reception at
Kolkata’s five star hotel with friends and family.
Around 300 guests were invited to the wedding reception and was
attended by various fashion personalities of the city including
designers, models and photographers. The food menu included
primarily Bengali delicacies and some east Asian cuisines.
Saibal Ganguly, Dimpy’s father said, “On a scale of one to hundred I
think I am hundred percent happy seeing that my daughter is so
happy. That’s what all parents want, don’t they?”
“Yes, there was a concern about our families’ economic and social
disparity, but when I met Rahul’s mother she seemed to be a very
firmly rooted and down-to-earth person. And Rahul himself is very
mature. So I had no qualms about them tying the knot” he added.
Dimpy, who wore a red sari by Tarun Tahiliani said, “It’s like a
fairy tale. Very hard to believe but feels so very wonderful. When I
look at Rahul, what I see is someone who is very compatible to me,
someone who understands me really well and is very caring.”
“I am not a very expressive person; as in I am not very comfortable
with expressing my emotions. I need someone who can catch me halfway
in the process”, she laughingly added.
Rahul, too, is enjoying the marital bliss and praises his wife
saying, “On the show, Dimpy had told me she knew nothing about doing
ghar ka kaam (household works); but later I found out that she was
actually pretty good at all that.”
“Life has become much better, more stable and beautiful. I feel I
have become more responsible than I used to be. And it feels lovely
to be Bangal ka jamai (Bangal’s son-in-law)” he said.

Asin to go back to her ‘Ghajini’ ways, this time with Salman Khan
Asin made her debut in Bollywood with a vivacious ad talkative role
in ‘Ghajini’ which went on to become a great hit. Later she did
something different in ‘London Dreams’ opposite Salman Khan. Now,
once again she is set to appear with Sallu Bhai but this time once
again as a ‘chulbuli’ and bubbly girl. The movie we are talking
about is Anees Bazmee’s remake of the Telugu hit ‘Ready’.
Previously, there were rumors that Deepika Padukone was being
considered for the role.
However, director Bazmee says, “Asin plays the lead. I wonder where
Deepika’s name came from! The role requires a ‘chulbuli’, vivacious,
talkative and agile girl. Asin was the natural choice.”
At present, Bazmee is preparing for a month-long shooting of his
next film ‘Thank You’ in Canada.

Kareena Kapoor to play the role based on the life of Marilyn Monroe

Does Katrina Kaif have anything against Priyanka Chopra?
It is not long back when Priyanka Chopra claimed on a talk show that
she was good friends with Katrina Kaif . So, when it came out that
Katrina Kaif walked out of Anurag Basu’s next as soon as Priyanka
Chopra was also chosen to be a part of the cast, it definitely
raised quite a few brows. This film had Ranbir and Katrina in the
lead roles. Later, Priyanka Chopra was also added to the cast and it
was then when Katrina backed out.
However, the reason is definitely not the cat-fight or any sort of
rivalry between the two actresses. Sources say that Katrina is
interested only in those films which have her as the solo heroine.
“I am not saying I won’t do films with other leading ladies, but for
now, I’m happy in the space I am. Why should I unnecessarily rock
the boat? And yes, I am finally about to lock the deal to produce my
film. It’s a fabulous role and I’ve been angling for the remake
rights for quite some time. I’d like to get down to it as soon as
possible,” said Katrina.
Also, Katrina has finally got the rights to produce the remake of a
French film and she needs time to work on this personal and close to
her heart project. In the film, she will be playing a “scheming
gold-digger.” Besides, she is also working on Farah Khan’s Tees Marr
Khan and has Zoya Akhtar’s next and Dostana 2 lined up in a row.
Too much going on the professional life of this pretty lady at
present!!

Amitabh Bachchan upset at Abhishek being dropped from Earth Day
event at New Delhi
Things are not going very smooth for the Big Bachchan, Shehenshah of
Bollywood. Recently, he was involved in a controversy when he
attended the inauguration of the Bandra-Worli sea link’s extension.
Congress leaders had protested this claiming that he is the brand
ambassador for Gujarat. In reply, Bachchan posted scanned copies of
the official invite he received for the event on his blog,
clarifying that he had been invited by a minister.
“I’m sorry if this post looks newspaperish , but I just felt there
were things that needed clarification. The Chief Minister of
Maharashtra Mr. Ashok Chavan, who was to join me at the literary
fest tomorrow in Pune, has changed his program and visited the venue
this evening, a day before he was scheduled to. And Bala Saheb
Thakeray has in a rare public announcement, stated that ‘Amitabh
Bachchan is a true Hindustani”.
Once again, he is angry and upset as son Abhishek Bachchan, who was
appointed the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) ambassador for Earth
Day, was dropped from the function in New Delhi at the last minute.
This is what the actor wrote on his blog:
“You are perhaps aware that Abhishek has been appointed the WWF
(World Wildlife Foundation) ambassador for Earth Day, a campaign
that has been initiated by WWF for the preservation of the earth.
Many ads in the press have been announcing, with his photograph in
place, that on the 27th of March let the entire country observe a
simple ritual of putting off the electricity in their homes for an
hour from 8.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.”
“An audio visual has been prepared with Abhishek where he is seeking
a pledge towards preservation of the Earth and requesting people to
switch off their lights for an hour. The Chief Minister of Delhi,
Mrs Shiela Dixit, and a prominent member of the ruling Congress
Party, is attending the moment. A few hours before the show was to
start apparently the audio visual featuring Abhishek has been asked
to be removed and banner posters bearing his photograph as
ambassador have been stopped from being. I wonder why??”
“Abhishek, who has been working so hard on the cause is obviously
disappointed, especially since he had worked late into the night
where he was shooting out of town to accommodate this creative. And
I wonder. Am I hallucinating, or is there a pattern in all this?”
